Partner Profile: Winter Session

Though it was their flawlessly designed bags that first attracted us to Winter Session, we've since become blown away by their infectious enthusiasm and their dedication to crafting practical, beautiful pieces.

Winter Session is a small team of artisans based in Denver, Colorado. Lead by husband-and-wife team Tanya Fleisher and Roy Katz, they design and manufacture canvas bags, leather wallets and other accessories with a refined utilitarian aesthetic. They work on a flexible scale and respond to each opportunity with care and attention to quality, utilizing a range of tools and processes: they find precision in laser cutters and AutoCAD, beauty and structure in hand-stitching, and strength and dependability in industrial sewing machines. Roy and Tanya started their business in the living room of their Chicago apartment, in 2010. Building off their professional work and studies in architecture and art, it started simply as a side project to exercise their design skills and nourish their shared creative curiosity. Over the next few years, Winter Session grew into a larger project that allowed them to translate our previous skills and experiences into a new medium: waxed canvas and leather.

In 2013, Roy and Tanya returned home to Colorado, setting up shop in the Five Points neighborhood of Denver to dive into what had become a full-time business and primary passion. Employing fellow creative thinkers, problem solvers, and aspiring craftspeople, they work together to create functional but beautiful carry goods for a growing local, national, and international customers base. Whether their products find their calling as trustworthy totes for everyday commuters, day packs for outdoor enthusiasts, carry-alls for new parents, or sophisticated note taking tools for creative professionals, Winter Session aims to create versatile, highly functional companions that are ready for the everyday adventures of life.
